50th-Year Reunion Picnic, Saturday, July 14th, 2012
Bodman Park (Market Street and Grove Street, off Navesink River Road, Middletown,
NJ)
[Information as emailed by Peggy (Burke) Cramer on July 9th, 2012]
So far just under 50 alums/guests have RSVP'd with 7 of those being 'iffy." This group is the sociable bunch if my conversations and emails ... are any indication! (I do not have emails for all those who reserved). Thanks to all who sent off checks already. Those who will pay at Bodman, look for my husband, Joe, under the pavilion.
This & That Information
Park facilities: You will find covered tables under the pavilion, shaded tables under the trees, grills (for those so inclined), a volleyball/badminton court, electricity and rest rooms.
Weather: The extended forecast is (good news first) cooler than last week [when NJ was in the high 90's!] with temps predicted in the upper 80's. But (now the bad news) there's a chance of rain. This is a rain or shine event [given that there is a big, solid pavilion under which to take shelter] so come prepared.
Name tags: If you are attending Friday night's event, bring your name tag with you to the picnic. If this is your first or only event, you will be able to pick up your name tag at the check-in table with Joe. Guests will use the regular 'sticky' name tag.
Booklets: Commemorative booklets will be available at all events. If you did not get one Friday evening, you can get one at the picnic.
What to Bring
Food: To keep costs down, it's a "bring your own lunch" or whatever. (No alcohol at a public park. Sorry!) Bottled water will be provided. If you want to grill, you will have to bring whatever you need.
Something to share: For those so inclined, we will have a 'share' section. I'm bringing a bag of small apples. If you want to add something, fine, but don't feel obligated.
Music: I will bring a tape-playing boom box and some 50's-60's tapes. If you've got a CD player and some Oldies, please bring it along (or more tapes).
Volleyball or badminton equipment: If you have these items, please bring along. Gym class! See you all there!
[PLEASE NOTE:] We certainly have room for more classmates and guests!
